With so many people passing at the moment, I thought that this might be a good time to explain a bit more about the Pass Plus course.
If you’ve passed your test but you want to gain a bit more confidence and develop your skills further, then the Pass Plus course is perfect for you. This course is undertaken with your instructor and the good news is, there’s no test at the end! You can ask your instructor if they offer the course, as they must be Pass Plus registered, but don’t worry, if they don’t offer if you can contact a new instructor. If you are in the Kettering area and looking to do this course then please give me a call.
The course is designed to improve your knowledge about the following 6 driving scenarios: driving in town, at night, in various weather conditions, on country lanes, on the dual carriageway and on the motorway. The course must take a minimum of 6 hours to complete. Your instructor will take you through the subjects mentioned and you should spend a good deal of time driving, to gain the necessary experience and demonstrate your knowledge. Once you have reached the requirements, your instructor will sign you off to say you have completed the course. You will them receive a certificate in the post with a unique reference number on it which will gain you cheaper car insurance with some companies.
The main benefit for new drivers who take this course is that you are statistically proven to be less likely to be involved in an accident during the first 2 years of driving. The course should give you more confidence on the road and improve your defensive driving techniques to help you notice potential hazards early, and learn how to safely navigate the increasingly busy roads in the UK.
