April 2021

Hello! It’s been some time since I wrote on here because I’ve honestly not known what to say! It’s been such a strange time with the on/off lockdowns that it’s felt easier to send messages out to individual pupils rather than update the blog. Thank you all for being so patient during a very difficult time. I’m so glad that we’re able to have lessons again and it’s been a lovely week this week. I’ve enjoyed seeing you all again and welcoming a few new faces. I now have a waiting list as long as my arm so if anyone is looking to start in the next few months please don’t hesitate to contact me and get your name on my list as soon as possible.

I’m really glad that this time, everyone with a practical test has been rebooked without any issues. I know its disappointing and frustrating to have to keep waiting and that you’d all hoped to have passed by now, but lets use the next couple of months to get your confidence back and ensure that you definitely get the passes you deserve. Wait times for new tests are going to be long for a while, currently the tests are all booked up until the end of September so please don’t hesitate to discuss with me any concerns you may have about getting a test in time. Also, ensure you’re checking your theory test certificates as I’d hate for anyone to have to retake their theory if we can avoid it, you have 2 years from your theory pass date to get your license.

Lastly, I just wanted to check that everyone knows about the lateral flow home testing kits? You can all request these from your pharmacy. The DVSA are recommending that people take up the opportunity to take a free lateral flow test at home at within 4 days of their driving test and that they take them before lessons as well. This is not a requirement however I am also choosing to take these tests at home twice a week.
