About me

If you’re looking for a highly recommended female driving instructor in Rothwell, Desborough or Kettering and the surrounding area in Northamptonshire then you’ve come to the right place. In 2012 I decided that I wanted a new challenge, having worked in secondary education since leaving university. I have always enjoyed helping people learn new skills, so I decided to combine that with my enjoyment of driving and began to retrain as a driving instructor. Passing the necessary tests at the beginning of 2013, I’m now a fully qualified instructor and have been training people ever since. A year after qualifying I also gained my “Grade A” instructor status from the DVSA, so you know you’re in safe hands.

As my business has progressed I’ve focused on training learners with Neurodiversity needs such as ADHD, autism and dyslexia, completing the DIA Drivers With Diverse Needs course in 2017 and then earning a TQUK Level 2 Certificate in understanding children and young people’s mental health, in 2022. Following that I have also completed the L 2 Pass Dyslexia and Dyspraxia Course. I think it’s really important to keep refreshing my skills so that I can provide my learners with the correct training for them. With that in mind, I added a TQUK Level 2 Autism qualification in 2025, and also began to study for my Post Graduate Certificate in Neurodiversity in the autumn of 2025.

I have developed my teaching style to be able to offer tailored lessons for learners with Neurodiversity and I also recognise that these conditions often come with the co occurring challenge of anxiety and I have lots of strategies to help people to overcome this.

Every learner receives a free 1:1 Meet and Greet session which allows us to go through any learning needs before lessons begin. They are very welcome to bring an advocate with them to this meeting if it would be useful to them. This meeting allows me to begin to form a plan for lessons and to get the information I need to be able to support the learner best, and gives the learner the chance to ask me any questions and feel a bit more comfortable before the lessons begin.
